On November 19-20, Prof. Campbell Booth from ENSIGN took part in the Co-Creation Workshop: Achieving Resilient Freight Electromobility across Road and Rail in Edinburgh. The event, hosted by three leading research hubs – DARe, TransiT, and ENSIGN – focused on advancing the future of electrification in freight and logistics.
Key discussions revolved around the challenges of electrification, distribution, battery technology, and building resilience against climate impacts.
Campbell was joined by industry experts:
– Ailidh Meek (SP Energy Networks), who shared insights on the response to Storm Arwen (2021) and the steps taken to enhance resilience in the face of extreme weather events.
– Scott Mathieson, Rhuriadh, (SP Energy Networks), who explored the electrification of freight across the UK.
A thought-provoking and inspiring event as we continue working toward a more sustainable, electrified future for freight transport!
