We’re proud to share that Dr. Omid Shahrokhi, Research Fellow at Heriot-Watt University and member of the Ensign team, presented an impactful posters at the IDRIC – CDT-GIF Annual Conference 2025: Green Industrial Futures – Strategies and Solutions, held on Thursday, 12th June.
Awarded 1st Prize:
“From CHPs to Heat Pumps: Modelling Cost and Emissions Trade-Offs for Industrial Heat Decarbonisation”
Co-authored and in collaboration with Dr. Zahra Hajabdollahi, Professor Zhibin Yu, Professor Mercedes Maroto-Valer, and Professor John M Andresen, this work, as part of the Ensign project, explores the transition from combined heat and power to heat pump technologies in industrial settings, balancing both costs and carbon emissions.
