Ensign is honoured that Professor Mercedes Maroto-Valer, Co-Investigator on the Ensign Project, is part of the United Nations Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition attending COP30.

COP30 – the COP of implementation! As Secretary General António Guterres emphasized, this is about implementation, implementation, implementation.
Over the past few days, Mercedes has been engaging with partners across industry, government, and academia to accelerate the shift from climate commitments to real-world action, including:

Today at COP30, the focus is on systems transformation across Energy, Industry, Transport, Trade, Finance, Carbon Markets, and Non-CO₂ gases, supporting the global push to:

  • Triple renewable energy
  • Double energy efficiency
  • Transition away from fossil fuels in a just, orderly, and equitable manner
