Vice Dean for Research in the Faculty of Engineering – University of Strathclyde – ENSIGN Principal Investigator

Professor Campbell Booth is Vice Dean for Research in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, responsible for research leadership and enhancement for 1,000 academic, research, knowledge exchange staff and PhD researchers across 8 departments. His research is in power system protection and monitoring. In addition to being overall Principal Investigator (PI) of Ensign, he previously led major projects with National Grid, ScottishPower, and has just completed an EPSRC UK-China grant. He has more than 250 publications, holds patents, and is co-founder of Synaptec, a Strathclyde spinout, which recently received significant investment to support growth. He has delivered several invited talks, chaired the IET’s Developments in Power System Protection conference, and is active on industry working groups. In his spare time, he likes travelling, sports (especially football), socialising (too much), exercising (not enough) and learning Spanish, a un ritmo muy lento.
